Apex Legends is a free-to-play Battle Royal shooter that threatens to end the current dominance of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite. The game is set in the same fictional universe as the Titanfall games and the objective is to play as one of a number of Legends with special abilities that work in synergy with other players and compete in teams of three in a last-team-standing competition on a gradually shrinking, sci-fi-infused map. Each match features 20 squads, 60 players total, on a creatively wrought map of sci-fi tropes and elaborate structures to explore and fight through.

Jumpmaster

Make sure you stick with the Jumpmaster if you are not in control as there is nothing worse then ending up half a map away from the rest of your squad.

Jump Trails

All the squads will leave colour jump trails spurting behind them as they dive to the ground. Keep an eye on these jump trails and try to land far away from opposing teams.

Play as a Team

The best strategy is for your team to stick together. Players who go off on their own will soon realise they are easy pickings for teams that are actively working together.

Switch Armour Instead of Healing

During the middle of a firefight it is better to swap out the armour for another set rather than trying to heal, particular by using the shield batteries.

Use Smart Comms

Give your teammates critical information and vice versa by using Smart Comms to communicate with them. Make sure they see what you see and always have the latest intel. This includes calling out the location of extra weapons and armour, tagging nearby enemies, and marking ideal drop locations.

Crafting

Crafting in Apex Legends requires Crafting Metals which are earned by playing the game and leveling up. Each new level reached will earn you 1 Apex Pack and one of the rewards inside these packs will be Crafting Metals which you can then use to unlock new cosmetic items such as Legend skins, Banners, Quips, Trackers, and Finishers.

Travel Faster

If you need to cover distances quickly use the Jump Towers that have ziplines with balloons attached to the top as these will allow you to lift off once again to find a new location. These ziplines are particularly useful when you are searching for high tier loot. Remember that you can fire your weapon while on the zipline, so don't just travel on it like a sitting duck.

Locating the Next Circle

Pathfinder has the ability to locate the next circle after the current one closes in by interlinking with any of the comm towers that can be found across the map. If you have Pathfinder in your squad make sure you take advantage of this ability.

New Hot Zones

Remember to always check your map for new Hot Zones, as a new one will always become available every time the circle changes size.

Apex Pack Robots

Keep an eye out for the Apex Pack robots, they look exactly like the loot crates you open in the menu and can typically be found in corners of buildings. If you shoot these robots you will be rewarded with a few pieces of gear which will scatter on the ground around it.
