Ok. The Black Charizard is not real. Someone probly just made it up and someone thought it was true so it just kept spreading.P.S. You can not groom pokemon!

You can groom in Leaf green version. It is in the house by yourhouse and one up from Prof. Oak. Talk to the little girl to groom them. I don't know if it is the same on fire red, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Actually there is a black Charizard you have to get an action replay or gameshark and use the code to get a shiny ditto and breed it with a charmeleon or charizard

You can groom Pokemon in both leafgreen and firered, I never hured of a black Charizard, but try it out.

You ppl r idiots the black Charizard is the shiny form of charizard to get it you do one of two things:
1. Use action replay, codebreaker, or gameshark code
2. At the beginning of the game save before you choose your Starter like right at the table then pick Charmander, you won't be able to tell if its shiny or not until you check its stats you will know bcuz it charmander will be slightly lighter than a normal charmander and somewhere in its pic it will have stars if your not sure just get into the battle with gary after charmander is sent out you will see stars Fly around it briefly that means its shiny if not just turn off the game and choose it again eventually you will get a shiny charmander once you do save the game and Evolve it into a charmeleon than Charizard and you will have your black charizard and this does work i do it everytime i start a new game for all my starters sometimes it takes a while others i get it on the first or second try it is all by chance
BE WARNED A SHINY POKEMONS WILL STATS WILL ALWAYS BE LOWER COMPARED TO A REGULAR POKEMONS STATS MEANING ITS STATS CAN NEVER BE MAXED OR REACH ITS FULL POTENTIAL UNLESS YOU USE CHEATS, BUT WHO CARES WHEN IT LOOKS THAT COOL

Black Charizard is just shiny. Grooming never yields shiny Pokemon, all it does is raise the Pokemon's happiness stat. In HeartGold/SoulSilver it also raises the beauty stat which, although cannot be viewed in game, can be checked in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

Ive got one all you have to do is once youve battled gary don't do anything else and go back to prof oak and he will swap your Charmander for a yellow one

Black Charizard is just shiny

It's a shiny Charizard your lucky you got one.

It is just the shiny version and it is all about luck here is how you know it's shiny it is a different color and will have a star next to it in the summary

Most people can do one of these 3 tricks to get a black Charizard (term is shiny Pokemon).

The first is a very long process but all you need is either ditto and 4 island unlocked and just keep breeding your Charizard and hatch charmanders till you get a shiny one.

The second ways is also a long process but a better than hatching eggs. At the beginning of the game when you choose your Starter Pokemon, have a save file at that point and once you do just keep resetting the game till you get a shiny.

The other way would be just Trade with someone that has a spare to give away if your not wanting to go through the first 2 ways
