Brave Nine Walkthrough and Guide

Brave Nine is a free-to-play strategic turn-based battle game. It was originally called Brown Dust but has been rebranded. On March 5th 2020, Brown Dust become Brave Nine, a name said to symbolise the game's character-based strategy mechanics. Brave Nine takes place after the great Empire has fallen and the world enters the so-called Age of Great Mercenaries. The game involves creating your own unique formations from a roster of over 300 unique Mercenaries and challenging other Captains as you engage in decisive combat in tons of modes. These include:

Understand the Basics

In Brave Nine the team that is positioned on the right side makes the first move. If the enemy army is on the right side, you need to brace yourself and prepare for a hit as the mercenaries will attack the opponents right in front of them (on the same line). This means you need to place your characters properly. Always make sure you check their range and place them in such a manner that it will give the enemy a hard time dealing with you. It is important that you pay close attention to the number of tiles your mercenaries can use.

Experiment with Different Teams

When you begin playing Brave Nine you should take the time to experiment with different team setups and formations to see which ones work and which ones you like best. This is worthwhile doing during the early stages as the enemies will be easy to defeat and it gives you the opportunity to understand the game mechanics and the factors you need to take into consideration to be successufl.

Level Up your Captain

It is important that you level up your Captain's level as doing so will enable you to deploy more mercenaries. The higher your Captain's level the more cost becomes available to be spent for mercenaries.

Play In-Game Events

Brave Nine features in-game events which you should take a close look at and complete the tasks some of them require in order to earn the rewards they offer. Some of these events are time limited while others can be accessed whenever you log in to the game. To find out what is currently available you need to open the 'Events' page which can be found in the main window and tap the 'Gift & Pack' (a red gift icon which is animated) option.

Farm Items

In order to grow mercenaries you will need a number of items. These items can be farmed by plaing the different game modes in Brave Nine. The item and the corresponding game mode where you can farm the item is listed below.

• Gold:

Campaign Battles, Event Dungeon, Sell Mercenaries/Runes.

• Runes:

Challenge mode; Rune Temple.

• Crystals

Challenge mode; Crystal Cave.

• Slimes:

Missions, Quest, Events, Campaign, Challenge Mode; Slime Forest.

• Soul Gear:

Co-op Raid.

• Honor Coins:

Arena

• Diamonds:

Quest, Missions, First-time clear reward.

• Ancient Coins:

Arena.

• Skill Books:

Honor shop, Quests/Missions/Events, Trading Post.

Collect Daily Login Rewards

Even if you have no intention of playing Brave Nine it is worthwhile logging into the game each day and selecting the 'Gift & Pack' option to access the daily login rewards which you will be able to collect by having logged on. These rewards will enable you to progress through the game easier during the later stages.

Free Daily Summon

Every day in Brave Nine you will be able to perform a free 'summon' which will enable you to add another mercenary to your roster. You can do this by selecting 'Shop' at the main menu and then clicking the 'Recruit' option. Make sure you take advantage of this 1 free daily summon.

Unlock Challenges

In Brave Nine the Challenge instances will unlock when you reach a certain point in the Campaign stages. The Challenge instances will let you adventure into new worlds and obtain new rewards. They are listed below along with the requirement to unlock them.

• Rune Temple (collect Runes):

Unlocks by completing stage 3-10.

• Crystal Cave (collect Crystals):

Unlocks by completing stage 6-10.

• Evil Castle (fight other enemies for rewards):

Unlocks by completing stage 10-10.

• World Boss - Terion:

Unlocks by completing stage 15-10.

• Co-op Raid (team up with other players to get Soul Gear):

Unlocks by completing stage 12-10.

• Event Dungeon:

Unlocks only when there are active events in game.

Join a Guild

Although Brave Nine may not be the most guild-demanding game on the market you may want to consider joining an active and social guild nevertheless. This will enable you to ask for suggestions and advice on other player's team setups and stratigies, as well as form bonds and help other people who also enjoy playing Brave Nine. When you join a guild you will also be able to take part in Guild War mode where your guild fights other guilds.
