Most Bugs can be caught successfully using different methods. Discussed here are the various methods of bug catching and clues as to what kind of bug you are dealing with.
Tarantula
- Found on the ground but shows up rarely, may jump at you and makes loud noises
- It will chase you when it finds you, so enter any building to escape it.
- Best caught when it is not moving and doesn't see you
- Slowly approach from behind and catch it.
- If it sees you and starts chasing you, run away, equip your net, turn around, then swing at it.
Pill Bug
- Located underneath rocks
- Use the shovel to hit as much rocks as you can
- Once they go outside, catch them.
Mole Cricket
- Produces buzzing sound
- Located underground
- Listen to where the sound is coming from by comparing the loudness of the sound in an area
- Dig up in the loudest location to reveal the insect, then equip the net and swing it.
Scorpion
- Found on the ground but shows up rarely, rattles noisily
- It will chase you when it finds you, so enter any building to escape it.
- Best caught when it is not moving and doesn't see you
- Slowly approach from behind and catch it.
- If it sees you and starts chasing you, run away, equip your net, turn around, then swing at it.
Dung Beetle
- Found beside snowballs during winter, pushes snowballs
- If you see a moving snowball, chances are a dung beetle is pushing it
- Use the net to put away the snowball and reveal the bug, then grab it using the net.
Flea
- Present when your villagers tell you they are itchy
- Jumping on infected villagers when you talk to them
- Stand as far away from the villager but still within catching range, then catch it
Bees
- Comes out of some trees that has a beehive on it
- Attacks you when you shake off a tree containing a beehive
- Run to an open field, open menu, point your cursor on the net, catch it when the circle enlarges
