Headshots
Aim for the enemy's head whenever possible as this is the fastest and most sure way to eliminate them. Remember that enemies that are wounded and crawling around are still capable of firing at you.
Weapons
Look to equip weapons that will be the most effective for the situations you are likely to encounter. If you know you are going to be fighting in closed rooms for example you will want to have a shotgun as it is ideal for that type of warfare.
Grenades
When an enemy is entrenched behind cover and you cannot target them use your grenades to smoke them out. Remember to steer clear of enemy grenades and if one gets too close pick it up and throw it out before it detonates.
Cover
When you move around always look for cover, make sure the cover you do choose is one which will protect you fully even if you stand up. If possible avoid covers from barriers that have uncovered parts as the enemy will be able to hit you through this.
Unlock Extinction Mode
This feature can be unlocked two different ways, you can either play Multiplayer Career mode and reach level 5 or by play Single-Player Campaign mode on the 'Regular' or higher difficulty setting and complete the 'Ghost Stories', 'Brave New World', 'No Man's Land', and 'Struck Down' missions.
