Reset Your Board
If you are dealt bad candies on any untimed level you can reset your board before you make any moves by tapping out to the main menu and then tapping back into that level. You will not be penalised or lose any lives doing this.
Special Candies
Always be on the lookout for special candy moves as they are more beneficial than the basic 3 candy match. There are several types of special candies: striped candy, wrapped candy, colour bomb, jelly fish, coconut wheel, and lucky candy. When you combine two special candies you will create a special candy combo which will produce special amplified effects.
Remove Blockers First
To complete the level within the set number of moves you need to focus on clearing the squares with the blockers first by matching candies in and near the blocked squares. Blocked squares on odd corners of the board will be particularly difficult to remove so make them your priority.
Suggested Moves
If you don't make a move after a certain amount of time the game will provide a hint for you in the form of candies flashing. Only use this suggested move as a last resort when you cannot spot anything else.
Have a Plan
Look at the entire board and plan what you are going to do instead of randomly matching when you start the level. Take into consideration the following factors, is it a timed level?, how many moves to you have?, and are your ingredients already on the board?
Look for Patterns
It is important that you are able to memorise patterns that lead to special candy as recognising and repeating them will allow you to wipe the board faster.
Start at the Bottom
Candies drop down so it is more beneficial if you crush candies at the bottom as doing so creates the potential for a cascade effect that essentially gives you free moves.
Go for Combos
Always be on the lookout for combos as they will help you get to places on the board that are otherwise difficult to reach. The two best combinations which can can wipe out half the board when used together are Wrapped Candy and Striped Candy, and the Sprinkle Donut Hole and the Striped Candy. Another good combo is the Wrapped Candy switched with another Wrapped Candy which will ignite a 6 by 4 square which can clear a huge area.
Candy Stripes
Candy is striped in the same direction as the final candy moved to complete the previous formation so make sure you pay attention to the direction of the stripes on candy and take advantage whenever possible. For example, if you move a candy horizontally, it will make a horizontal stripe, which will then explode horizontally as well.
Evil Candy
Prioritise getting red of evil candy by how dangerous it is to stopping you complete the level. This usually means eliminating low number bombs first, then chocolate, then blocks.
Jellies
The only jellies you need to be concerned about when clearing them are those on the edges, especially the corners and bottoms. These jellies have the least number of combinations which makes getting rid of them difficult. It's always worth taking a moment each move to see if there are any you can eliminate.
+5 Candy Chain
When you make a chain of +5 candy on any level 5 seconds will be added to a time trial level. A small icon in the lower left corner of the start up screen for each level will indicate whether it is a time trial level or a clear all jelly level.
Chocolate
In the early levels if you have eaten a piece of chocolate one level it will not regenerate for the next level. If it is able to chocolate will avoid special candy and it will also not eat a fruit or nut, though it will absorb bombs.
