The Dart Monkey is the basic and cheapest monkey that players will be able to play with. It's a standard monkey holding a dart that can pop balloons one layer at a time. It's quite useful in the early rounds since you can buy several of these guys in the early rounds. However, as you unlock more powerful towers, their effectiveness will be overshadowed to the point that you won't need to use them anymore.

Strategy
The Dart Monkey needs at least its tier 3 upgrade to remain useful in the later waves. Placing them close to each other can also decimate lower level bloons to shreds quite easily. Dart Monkeys with last tier upgrades can also help a lot with their lightning-fast Attack Speed and high Popping Power.
