Demand
Demand is another factor that affects the rate at which buildings earn. Having an excess of one type of Building will negatively affect the other types. There must be a balance between the building types available so that not a single one will be labeled as "Low Demand" giving the buildings in the Low Demand category will make them yield 10% less earnings.
However this can be strategically manipulated to your advantage. It isn't much, but Building types in the "High Demand" get 10% increased earnings. You can essentially make 3 of the building types high demand by slowly adding in a single type that you aren't planning on giving the high demand status.
