Diamonds

Diamonds are the premium currency in Boom Beach. They are used for increasing production speed (i.e. finishing off production and upgrades instantly). You can also use them to replace any of your resources when required, so are very important. Unlike most free games, Boom Beach is very generous when it comes to giving out Diamonds. You get a healthy amount when you start the game (currently 50), and receive more from opening chest on the map screen, completing achievements and successfully defending your base. You can also purchase them using real money, but it's very refreshing that this isn't necessary to make good progress in the game.

Generating Diamonds

As mentioned above, there are five ways to earn Diamonds in Boom Beach:

- When you start the game (you are given 50 Diamonds)

- Successfully defending your base

- Exploring the map and opening chests

- Completing achievements

- Purchasing them with real money

The Best Use for Diamonds

Usually in games like these, deciding what is best to spend your Diamonds on is a difficult decision. Thankfully, in Boom Beach, it's an easy choice. Diamonds are reserved for speeding up Building times and upgrades. Simply put, you should save your Diamonds until you really can't afford to wait hours for something to upgrade or finish production - if you are about to go away from the game for a day, then you may as well let production take its course.
