Your game is broken, its because you used a cheat to catch a pokemon, you have to delete your game to fix it. I tried this before and asked nintendo about it in the forums and this is what they saidGuest answered:

When I try to do the Trainer code & press L+R, it brings up that one battle help screen instead. :/

you have to go to options and switch the l and r settings to not display help when you press them. It's the same where you must not have a key item registered to use select in codes.Guest answered:

You have to put the code before the battle (unfortunately), if you put it during the battle, you'll have a bad egg

This is the code I really hopes it works for you like it works for me and as soon as you press use Pokeball when tour in a battle press down L and R as quick as you can and this is the code

For anybody that keeps getting a bad egg... Do it like this:
1. Put in the code.
2. Go to bag. Use pokeball
3. Press L+R (AFTER throwing the pokeball)
KEEP PRESSING L+R UNTIL THE Pokemon IS CAUGHT
That fixed the bad egg issue for me. Hope it works for you

I used the cheat above but the trainer always block the pokeball. Idk why but the steal other trainer's pokemon is not working for me.If you are still looking for help with this game we have more questions and answers for you to check.
