When you run out of energy you can either wait a period of time for it to replenish or spend real money and get it straight away. Energy is not in abundance so you will not be able to spend long sessions playing the game unless you are willing to spend real money. You can always use energy dress up your character in different types of fashion but unless you are prepared to spend real money you will have to keep chipping away at the game to see the good stuff which includes pets and cars.
