Free Gems

Clash of Clans is very generous with giving out free Gems. There are four good ways to accumulate free gems in this game.

1) By Completing achievements

There are absolutely tons of achievements to complete in Clash of Clans, each one will give you some Gems, some just a couple, but some loads of gems, this is a great way to accumulate gems to spend on a new builder hut if you are playing this game strictly for free.

Two of the achievements to look for for free Gems are Nice and Tidy and Sweet Victory!

Nice and Tidy - As you clear trees and bushes around your village you will sometimes be rewarded with a couple of Gems, and once you complete a milestone objective in this achievement you will get some more, for example once you clear 500 obstacles, you'll get a bonus 20 gems. It's not a great deal, but remember, for every obstacle you remove there is also a chance of picking up a couple of gems for free too.

Sweet Victory! - As you win Trophies in multiplayer you'll be on your way to reaching the milestone awards for free Gems. Get 1250 trophies in multiplayer and you'll get 450 gems for free.

2) Clearing trees and stones in your base

In case you did not know, if you clear trees and stones and other items scattered around your base, such as gem boxes, you stand a chance of getting free Gems. This is a slow and steady way of accumulating lots of gems over a period of time.

As mentioned above, clearing obstacles in your village will help you reach the milestone awards for the Nice and Tidy achievement, and also give you a chance of bagging a couple of free Gems for each obstacle cleared-

3) Gem Mine

New to the game with the builder base update, there is a gem mine which actually produces, albeit slowly, free Gems! You can probably expect a couple of gems a day, but over time, this will add up, especially if you are saving up for a new builder hut and want it for free!

4) Play the Events

Some of the event awards will be free Gems, so look out for the events, and check out what the rewards are. SuperCell are very active wither their events and often to win the free gems you just have to do what you would normally be doing in the game anyway.
