Welcome to the GTA: San Andreas Vehicle Speeds FAQ. This FAQ will inform you of
the relative speeds of each and every land vehicle in San Andreas. I decided to
conduct this test to end the continuous speculation about which vehicle was the
quickest. Testing nearly 150 vehicles is not an easy process, and it took me a
while to find and test them all, but now that it's finished, I am very glad
that I did.

A. How I did it [HOW]

OK, this is how it went. I chose a method that would eliminate human error and
reaction times as much as possible. When I found the vehicle, I took it to the
SF Airport, and lined it up (using first person view) so that the front of the
car was in line with the second closest lamp post to the water's edge. I then
pressed down X and held it for the entirety of the test. When the vehicle
reached the beginning of the runway, I started the stopwatch. I stopped the
watch when it reached the end of the runway.

I deliberately chose not to use the in-game clock for 2 reasons:
> It does not go up in exact seconds.
> It does not include fractions of seconds.

B. Vehicles I did not test [NOT]

I tested all the land vehicles (with the exception of bicycles) in San Andreas.
So the vehicles I did not test are as follows:

> Boats, helicopters and planes - they're not land vehicles.
> Bicycles - they don't have engines.
> LSPD/LVPD Police Cars - I doubt they're programmed to perform differently to
the SFPD police cars (which I did test).

C. Speed Results [RES]

So, after extensive driving up and down the runway, here are the results.

Now it's important to consider that, despite my best efforts to eliminate human
error and reaction times, the results will not be 100% clear cut. For example,
I may have started/stopped the stopwatch a few hundredths of a second too late
or early at the end of the test, and as you will see in the results, the middle
of the pack is very tight, with several times shared by more than one vehicle.

Because of this, you must realize when reading the results that if they were
re-tested, they may get slightly different times, and therefore be in slightly
different positions. However, don't start thinking that this test is completely
inaccurate as I would not have done this FAQ about it. As I stated before, the
margin of error is minimal, and I am confident that the results are as accurate
as possible.
