Enemy
Each type of enemy you encounter will have their own unique attack pattern which you need to study and memorise. When you face a new enemy type don't attack straight away, let them attack first a couple of times so you can get a feel for this pattern and figure out the best way to counter it. You will recieve extra rewards and XP for fighting enemies that you do not need to fight as part of your quest.
Attacking
The most effective and quickest way to defeat an opponent is to keep attacking nonstop while parrying when they retaliate. To do this correctly requires near-perfect timing though. There is no time limits in fights so be patient and chip away at your foe.
Perfect Parries
There are no blocks in this game so you need to master how to perform a 'Perfect Parry!' if you want to survive. This move requires precise timing and is essential for landing big hits on your opponents as it will momentarily throw your opponent off guard allowing you to counter while they are still trying to recover.
Bosses
Before you take on bosses it is crucial that you ensure you have sufficient strength and hit points for the task as they do huge damage and have massive health bars. They can be beaten though, each boss has a weakness that can be exploited, you just need to figure out what it is by studying their attack pattern.
Dying
Unlike most other games of this genre you will not be penalised when you die. What will happen is that you will respawn with a bit less health near the location of your death. If however you want to respawn with full health you can view a 20 second.
Quests
Quests refresh daily so make sure you check them on a regular basis. As you progress through the game more quest slots will become unlocked.
Barrels
Make sure when you are wandering through the world you tap on the glowing blue barrels to break them as some of them will contain black ash which is a vital ingredient for upgrading your equipment. The green barrels you come across will restore a bit of your health when you break them.
Health Potions
You will not be able to make health potions while you are in a fight so make sure especially before you take on a boss you have one to hand. When you have no potions and need to replenish your health you will need to find and destroy the green sieves that are scattered about.
Glowing Exclamation Marks
There will be things you need to find that are not marked on your HUD so when you are exploring keep an eye out for glowing exclamation marks that are hovering in the world.
Upgrading
Remember that upgrades are not instant so the best time to start them is when you are going to stop playing for a period of time. You will be able to upgrade your equipment to increase its stats when you have collected the required amount of Black Iron Ash.
When you have completed the tutorial you will be able to unlock the Arena Challenge where you fight a random opponent. The rewards you earn in Arena Challenges are based on how many matches you win.
