Hints & Tips

Below is a collection of hints and tips which will hopefully help you to become a good player in this new installment of the Angry Birds franchise.

Hatching Tickets

Although it is tempting to use your tickets for hatching eggs as soon as you receive them it is more beneficial to save them for when the special events appear as they will increase your chances of getting rare birds from hatched eggs.

Leveling Up Birds

Always make sure when leveling up your birds that you use birds of the same colour so you get the extra XP points.

Rare Birds

When deciding what birds to level up always focus on leveling up your rarer birds first, the more stars they have the rarer the bird. Don't consider one star birds, these are just leveling up materials.

Leader Ability

Each of the birds regardless of how many stars they have has a Leader ability which is unlocked when you reach the White Mountains in the Campaign levels.

Scout Missions

If you don't complete scout missions they will disappear so focus on completing them as soon as they are unlocked. Completing scout missions is easy and they help you upgrade your team faster, they also give you the opportunity to bring in powerful players' birds for free.

Increase Inventory

Save the Diamonds you earn for increasing the size of your inventory later in the game when you will need more birds of the same colour for different missions. To increase your inventory by 10 slots will cost you 200 Diamonds.

Selecting Birds

Early in the game selecting your most powerful team of birds will usually get the job done, later on though when you are able to choose from multiple birds and the difficulty level increases selecting the right birds for the job will become vital, you will need to take into consideration the skills and the actual powers of the birds.

Boosters

Always look to take advantage of the boosters that are on the field such as extra health, increased speed, or bomb crates to deal more damage.

Attack Order

The order in which your birds attack is important and should be based on the damage they will deal. A Special Attack should ony be used when they will cause maximum damage so a good strategy when pigs are scattered is to use other birds to group them together before you use it.

Attack from the Back

Look to attack the enemy from the rear whenever possible by bouncing off of the battle boundaries or other birds before releasing them. This can be a difficult mechanic to perform but if you can pull it off you will be able to deal more damage and be rewarded an XP bonus.

Pigs

Destroy pigs one at a time and focus on those that have low health first as they tend to be the ones that attack more often. Your objective is to try and take out as many pigs as possible as fast as possible as opposed to dealing damage to all pigs, but having them on the board.

Shiny Totems

Shiny Totems can be found in missions or in eggs in the hatchery. These Shiny Totems will enable you to make a bird a shiny so they are very valuable.

PvP

This feature takes place in the Oinktagon and involves players playing Oinkball against each other to receive PvP trophies which are used to determine their ranking on the leaderboard. Winners may also recieve dungeon keys that can be used to access dungeons on the world map.
