While there are no tap-in cheat codes for Hogwarts Legacy there are still a decent number of tips and tricks that you can utilize in the game to help speed up grinding money and speeding up your progress in the game. We start off our coverage with this neat money cheat using Eye chests.
Opening Eye Chests are a great way to get a ton of gold early in the game. The only prerequisite is that you need to have unlocked the Disillusionment Charm, and you get this by completing the quest, 'Secrets of the Restricted Section'.
So, with that quest out of the way and your Disillusionment Charm to hand you can begin grinding Eye Cheats for gold!
Basically, locate an eye chest and cast the Disillusionment Charm, this was the eye chest won't be able to see you, you should be able to get through about 20 eye chests in about 10 minutes once you know where they all are!
This is a great way to bag some galleons easily early in the game. Take a look at our Best Ways to Make Money Guide to find out what the most efficient ways are to earn galleons in Hogwarts Legacy.
Although you start off with 20 gear slots, it's really not enough for any budding wizard and you'll soon find that your gear slots are all filled up relatively quickly, so it's lots of trips to the shop to sell your excess equipment for gold.
If you unlock and complete Merlin Trials, you can unlock up to another 20 gear slots. It's a long grind to unlock all 20, but the quests are fun and the rewards can be pretty decent.
Complete enough Merlin Trials to get to the next reward level and claim that extra gear slot that you get when you get to a new reward level.
Remember that you'll need Mallowsweet leaves to activate a Merlin Trial.
At first glance the puzzle doors could seem a tad complicated especially if you don't know what to do, but you simply have to assign a number 0-9 for each of the creatures around the door from left to right. So the bottom left would be 0, the next one up 1 etc...
Then you solve the question that is asked by making the addition based on which number is represented by each creature.
Before you can brew potions in Hogwarts Legacy, you'll need to get to the part of the game where you have to attend the Potions class by Professor Sharp, here you learn how to brew potions in the game and the feature becomes unlocked.
Once you have unlocked the ability to make potions, actually brewing them is really easy. Simply select your potion, and as long as you have all of the necessary ingredients you should be good to go and the brewing process will begin.
Potions are not brewed instantly though, and it does take some time for the potions to complete, unfortunately you can't pause the game and just come back, because that will also pause the brewing time too! Better you go off for a little while until your potion is ready then you can come back and collect it instead of wasting time waiting for the potion to brew.
You can brew your potions in two places, either in the Potions classroom or the Room of Requirement, which you will need to unlock with a quest during gameplay.
After you have made a decision on what house you want to play you won't be able to change it, so make sure you are happy with your final choice. To first select a house you sit in the chair with the sorting hat and answer some questions, your answers will determine how the sorting hat allocates you a house.
However, you can change your house choice manually if you prefer one the sorting hat did not give you. As usual in Harry Potter games your choices are; Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.

To upgrade a broom in Hogwarts Legacy you have to play the trials, flying through the rings until you complete the course. Do your best to get each ring to maximise your score. How long does a day take in Hogwarts? |
The game dynamically changes as it cycles through the day and night, but how long does each day actually take to play out in the Hogwarts Legacy. Well we think that there is no set time period for the day and night to change in Hogwarts Legacy, rather it is controlled by the current mission or plot of the game. So for example if you are playing a quest that is based in the night time,t he game should automatically reflect that time and cycle you to the night automatically. Apart from night and day being dictated by the plot of the game, you can also manually change the game to be daytime or night time, here's how. After completing the Welcome to Hogsmeade quest, you can control time by going to the game map and clicking the Wait icon. Then you can choose to advance to day to night or night to day. |
