How can I change my sims name?

You can't Sadly

Make a third sim with the last name you want. Have both your existing Sims get married/move in with the third sim. Make sure it's the third sim who does the asking.

Alternately, be all new-fangled and ignore it.

Same happened to me. Another Sim moved in with me, because they asked me at my house and I wasn't ready to give up on the house that I created.

Add a new sim with the last name you want to an existing but empty house (or build a new one) and ask the sim you want to change the last name of to move in and then move him/her back for 5.000 Simoleons.
Be careful not to make them move back by asking, otherwise this will happen again.
Afterwards you can delete the sim that you only add for the name thing.
That's how I will do it.

You go to the wardrobe and browses clothes, in the top left hand corner should be a red sim with an X over it. You click it and then it says move sim. To change last name you have to create a new sim

You can only change their last name by moving in with another sim. You can do that by being a good friend with them or you will have to be partners. Also you can have two Sims get married but that comes on later in the game.

Click on the sim and there's the option of "have birthday" and "ultimate make-over for 12 LP"

On the ultimate makeover you can change the surname of the sim.

Simply make your Sims get a divorce then relocate the sim you want to have the last name changed , then get the sim that has the last name you desire for your other sim , to ask the other sim to move in and then have them remarry then you should have the last name you wanted in the first place. Im working on this myself right now. Now keep in mind you need 5,000 to relocate a sim. Hope this works for you good luck.

YES!! You CAN change names. It cost 12 LP though. You click on the sim when it is selected (green diamond over head) and then select ULTIMATE MAKEOVER. Also, if you change their last name when they are married and/or have Children, it will change the entire families last name automatically. :-)

Yes you can change the name you just hit the person and click ultimate makeover and it will let you change the name but sadly it cost me 12 LP hope his helped

If you want to change a Sims real name, make the green diamond go above the one you want to change their name and click ultimate make over. So just make sure the one with the last name you want asks to move in. If it happens you can have the man move out by creating another sim with the same last name and making them best friends. Then just try to move them in together again. She'll take his name if he asks, I think. Even if it's his house and it seems weird.

You have to press the sim you want the name changed and press on "Ultimate Make Over". It will cost some LP though. I'm pretty sure that's how to change the name.

Unfortunately you can't. I made that mistake and decided to name a sim " Pinky Pie " because I wanted her to be a pop star. I soon regretted my desicion as I did not want a pop star anymore. I managed to get her married to a " Luscimbe " but now her name is Pinky Luscimbe!! Why did I do that!?! Hahaha!! Sorry.

The easiest way is to tap on your sim and tap "extreme makeover". It costs 12 LP. You could also create a character with the proper last name and have the character you want to have that name become good friends with them, and have the new sim ask them to move in. You can then delete the new sim if you want by tapping on them and tapping the red button to the right of their name.

For Sims 4, click on a Mirror and select change sim. It will bring up create a sim and you can edit the name there.

You can't change last names unless you move them, so what you can do is make a new sim with the guy's last name, make the guy and the new person become good friends, make the guy move in with the new person, and then make the GUY ask the GIRL to move in. Then you can just delete the new person. They will now have the guy's last name!
