How do you get fire extinguishers I case the cooking catches fire?

You have to buy the wall mounting for the extinguishers from the furniture store. It's in the featured Items or it is the first item in the kitchen section. Once you buy that and put it in your Sim's home you can just click on the Sim's stove if there is a fire and it will give you the option of buying various extinguishers or you can buy them in the supermarket.

You buy an extinguisher from the kitchen section at the store. In order to actually use it you need to buy an "extinguisher shelf" which is in the kitchen section of furnishings. Hang up the shelf then if you have a fire it actually allows you to use the extinguisher you bought.

I've bought extinguishers before at the grocery. Store. But now that I did the new upgrade from the winter freeplay to the freeplay with the pools now the store no longer has extinguishers. It also does not have weed killer.

I've got the upgrade and I really need a fire extinguisher but there are none. What do I do ?????????????????

If you have the Swimming pool update then just click on the oven and press extinguish and it will do it for you

You just click on the stove when it catches fire and it will prompt you to put it out.

With the newest updates, it is no longer necessary to buy a fire extinguisher. It is now an option just to extinguish it, making previously owned fire extinguishers completely useless. If you have some, I would highly suggest selling them as they no longer do anything.

You can also purchase an oven exhaust for your stoves as well.

Really? OK, you DO NOT have to buy ANYTHING!!! So what you do is you choose what you want to cook on the stove that may or may not burn. When it doesn't give you the money, it catches on fire. You click on the stove, or whatever is burning, and then there will be an option to " Extinguish " the fire. Click on that, and it will take three minutes to do so.

I get that.. BUT it says BUY one.. I ignore it, it takes my money but doesnt cook what I need it to cook......

You don't buy an extinguisher. When the oven is on fire, you just click on it, then it will give you the option "extinguish" then click that. Simple!

It automatically extinguishes since the update. Just have your sim press it. It doesn't even take long :D

You don't have to buy anything just click on the stove and then it says extinguish, just simply click on it and the fire will be put out in a couple of seconds

You don't need a fire extinguisher. When the oven starts burning just tap on it and it will come up with the button that says 'extinguish fire - 3 mins' press on it and your sim will extinguish the fire.

Try giving a Sim a Job as a Fireman, then get Him/Her to extinguish the fire. Don't need an extinguisher

Thanks for helping with this answer, y'all. It's greatly appreciated. For those of you saying the Quest says to buy an extinguisher, it does not. The quest just says to make some Rocky Road, and when you click on the Rocky Road to start Baking, it then tells you to have an extinguisher handy. Just a hint that it may catch on fire. Make sure you're on an Adult. Then simply press on the burning stove and an option will come up saying "Extinguish-3 mins". Just press on that and leave your sim to extinguish it. No fire extinguisher needed!

Maybe you just buy Fire Station and it will give you that?

Do you have to out out the fire the second it catches ? If so will it spread to the rest of your house or just stay on the stove ? Thanks

I've seen all answers, some are funny. Our Sims are like the Gods, it' s amazing what Items they can bring out from their pockets and used them. Fire extinguisher is one of them. Just tap on a oven that is on fire and option for 'Extinguish' should come up. Just tap on it and your sim will bring the fire extinguish out from his or her pocket and use it. It has been like that for long time.

None of my sim Neighbors have a fire Hydrant and I don't see one to buy either ... What do I do ?

Wen the fire is going on you press on the stove & it gives you an option to stop the fire.

You don't have to buy one you can just cook and organic meal then when it's done it'll show the meal and a fire signal so you click that and it'll ask you if you want to extinguish it which will take 3 minutes
