How to Earn Bells:

It actually is relatively easy to collect bells in the game as different activities found therein mainly reward you (directly and indirectly*) with bells. All the items which you easily pick or earn in the game can also be sold via the Marketplace or if you're in a hurry to get the necessary amount of bells, by selling them thru the game's NPC. We've listed below some of the usual ways to earn bells, including the activities that might get you farming a ton of them really quick.

*(indirectly by selling the stuff you pick like fruits or Shells in exchange for bells)

What are bells for?

Bells in the game are the basic currency in the game. When compared to other free-to-play mobile app games, Bells would generally be the Coins, accompanied by a "Premium" currency like Gems -- which in this game are called Leaf Tickets. Bells are mainly used to purchase stuff in the game, which you'll need in order to attract other guests to want to visit your camp. This in return opens up other opportunities of progress in terms of new items to Craft and so on and so forth.

The Most Common ways to earn them:

Shaking Non-fruit bearing trees-

Shaking trees that do not have fruits in them can randomly drop a star-marked loot bag which contains a random quantity of bells ranging from 300 up to 2000. Take note though that you only get 1 loot bag every day so avoid the unnecessary shaking of empty trees after you got your share for the day. Doing this early in the game would benefit you greatly as it could help you a lot pick-up the pace building stuff in your camp.

Completing (Animal) Friend Request-

Another easy way to earn Bells in the game (or at least you get to earn passively) is by completing requests made by your animal friends/guests. Given that, it is relatively important to have lots of friends in the game as they tend to give you different requests that will eventually be paid back with reward items upon completion. Every time you complete a request, they usually reward you with bells along with a few Crafting materials.

Not limited to this, you can also simply chit-chat with them, and sometimes they tend to give you gifts such as bells in return.

There are pros and cons for having an animal friend stay at your camp compared to those that are roaming free elsewhere. When an animal friend is a guest in your camp, they tend to ask for less requests than what they usually ask if they are roaming out of your camp. The upside though is that they tend to give gifts regularly. However, when they are roaming out of your camp, although they shell out a bit more requests per day, they tend to change location every after few hours -- which in return, will make you have look for them. Take note that you may also get to increase the amount of request they make by another 3 (they ask a maximum of 3 per day), by using a Request Ticket (you can't do this while they are invited and currently in your camp).

The good thing about trying to earn bells this ways is that - not only do you get Crafting items along with it, you also tend to increase your Friendship Levels with the animals whom you've fulfilled their requests with. As the friendship level with them increases, so will the reward items and bells increase in their quantity too!

As a reward every time you Level-up-

Although a far stretch, it is important to know that you also are given reward items and bells every time your character levels up in the game. Every time you level up, you'll be rewarded with 10 Leaf Tickets and 1000 Bells. Not much you might say, but since you'll pretty much get to Level 25 in a week time, that'll be an additional 25,000 bells and 250 leaf tickets in your pocket!

Selling (Craft) items-

A relatively basic way to earn money in the game, is by selling the stuff that you do not particularly need. After putting a few hours in the game, you'll get a hint of the items you'll always have in excess (or abundance of). Basically, every player has at least two fruits in excess which you'd definitely not run-out of. These fruits can then be sold to the market place if you're not in a hurry as other people would tend to need some of it -- just as you would with some other fruits or items. Otherwise, you may also choose to sell items thru the NPC for a lower selling price.

The same is true with the pricey minerals that you can earn from entering the Shovelstrike Quarry. Although you might consider keeping them for future use, it is important to keep in mind that you have a limited space in your storage which makes it more viable to sell the minerals that you have yet to have any use for as they can still be easily farmed later on in the game.

Doing Daily Goals-

To keep players active (and entertained with always something new to do), the game introduces Daily Goals that players have the option to fulfill. Although not the ideal way of earning bells as not all goals reward them, during early levels in the game, you'd usually be showered with bells along with the Craft items by fulfilling daily goals (timed and Stretch Goals).
