How to Unlock

This island houses a lot of variety of bugs, fishes and sea creatures. It will be summer here all day and year long, regardless of the weather in your hometown. You can also go on tours or mini-games that will earn you medals. Medals can be used to purchase unique souvenirs or items sold only in the island.

How to Unlock

First, pay off your house’s first expansion loan amounting 39,800 bells. (Refer to this guide’s “Earning Bells” section for tips on how to earn bells to pay off this loan) Once done, save and exit the game to return to the main menu. Load your game again and Tortimer, the town’s previous mayor will appear in Isabelle’s pre-loading screen. Head to the beach and talk to Tortimer after this and you should be able to travel to the tropical island through the same dock the next day.

The next day, you should find a boat manned by Kapp’n. He will take you to the island for 1000 bells. You can’t take anything to the island but you don’t have to worry since you can borrow necessary tools there. Kapp’n will always sing a song while going to and from the island. You can skip this by rapidly pressing B.
