III. The Great Bridge

Once you’ve beaten all the enemies at the plaza you may take the stairs to the left which will lead you back to the fountain area where you will find a large Hunchback Ogre banging the door leading to the plaza earlier. You will also find large crows around the fountain which you should defeat. Once you are done, head to the stairs. On the left you will find a large gate that’s locked so you will have to go straight and climb the stairs where you will find a well and will be greeted by a three large Rabid Dogs and some more Yharnamites too. To the right of the well, take the stairs.

There you will find some more Rabid Dogs, Hunchback Ogre, Giant Crows, and more Afflicted Yharnamites. If you beat all of them and head towards the end of the bridge you will finally meet the first boss, the Cleric Beast—a huge beast that towers over you and torments you by swiping you from left and right with its large claws. It also makes use of his large left arm to hit you and crush you. The beast may also, at times, decide to pounce on you. You may hit his enlarged left arm, which staggers him a bit, and once you are successful, you may attack him some more by hitting his chest, his head…well everywhere.

To defeat the Cleric Beast, make use of your charge attack while making sure that you are using the longer version of your weapon. Take every opportunity you can to hit him, especially from its back. After conquering the Cleric Beast, you will pick up a Sword hunter Badge.

Soon, a lantern pops out and at this point, you may return to the hunter’s Dream to save your progress, unload your items and, finally, level up. Once you’ve returned to the Hunter’s Dream, you will find that the doll has come to life. The Doll claims that she is there to help you and also says something about Gehram and the Messengers. To distribute your stats, talk to the Doll and choose Channel Blood Echoes.

When you are done, you may return to the Great Bridge. Within the Great Bridge, you may find a stairway leading to a room in a building where you will fight some more enemies. If you head down deeper into the building, there will be two doors at the end of it. The door on the right will be locked so you will have to take the other door on the left which leads you back to an alley in Yharnam. Take the stairs infront of you to open the gate, near Gilbert’s place, that was previously locked.

If you go back to the area from the underground room by the bridge, you will also find a passageway to the right. Once you follow that road you will be led to a large area under the bridge. Take the stairs to the right and head straight down another flight of stairs where you will be attacked by some more Rabid dogs. If you move further down the road you will find a passageway towards a building where you will be attacked by more Afflicted Yharnamites and some Lanky beast. If you continue on you will find yourself in a large sewer area. If you look up, you may find two corpses hanging from a beam. Cut the chain and pick up the Saw Spear from one of the corpses.

Within the same area you may find a path, blocked by some barrels, which may lead you outside where you may find a female hunter who then offers you the Bold Hunter’s Mark.

If you go down the sewer, you will be attacked by more Lanky Beasts. Head down towards the end of the room and then you will find a bridgeway. There will be giant ravens and lanky beasts also to attack you. After eliminating them go down the ladder, and take a right. At the end of the tunnel, climb the ladder and defeat the giant ravens on the right of the bridgeway. There is also the Ogre by a large door. Also by the sewer, you can also find a woman offering to speak to you ONLY if you have found a safe place to go. After exiting the sewer, you will find a ladder that will take you to a little girl’s window.

The little girl, Viola, asks your help to find her parents who have gone missing. She offers you a Tiny Music Box and asks you to find her mom who wears a red-jewelled brooch.

After talking to Viola you will get to open the gate that is near the fountain which was locked previously.

Go back down to the sewers by descending the ladder. If you go down to the lowest part of the sewer you will be attacked by Crawling beasts that have quite a long reach whenever they swipe at you. There will also be Giant Crows and Giant Pigs waiting for you at this point. Head down towards the end of the sewer. Take the exit and climb the ladder where you will find an ogre and another Afflicted Yharnamite. Take the stairs to the left and defeat the Afflicted Yharnamites. This is where a cut scene will commence and you will find a man in a graveyard.
