Although you cannot skip levels you can unlock new worlds if you have collected enough stars. If you do not have enough stars to unlock a new world you can always replay levels where you didn't nab all three stars.

Om Nom is able to transform into a variety of animals with each one having it's own power. Make sure you experiment with these transformations so you become familiar with each ones strengths and limitations so you can use them accordingly to get the candy from the hard reaching places.

You can restart a stage as many times as you want without being penalised so take advantage of this whenever you start a new stage to look around and experiment before devising a strategy you think will work.
