Although Daemon X Machina has an autosave included that will save your progress in the game after every major event it is advised that you still get into the habit of regularly saving the game manually. You will not be able to manually save the game during a mission, you must be at your main HQ.
At your base go to the central terminal where you accept missions and at the menu select the 'System' option. Here you will be given the choice to manually save or load whatever you want. By creating this separate file you can ensure that you will not lose much progress if something unfortunate happens, and you did lose your save file.
Although the Mech will automatically reload your weapon when you run out of bullets in a clip you should get in the habit of reloading yourself before you enter into any new area to make sure you are fully loaded and ready to take on whatever enemy you encounter. As you are vulnerable during the process of loading your weapons it is best to hide behind a cover before you reload.
Just like you the enemy also loses Stamina when they boost around during battle. Make sure you pay attention to their Stamina as well as yours, so you can immediately take advantage by launching an attack where you charge into them to deal as much damage as possible the instant you see an 'STM Empty' warning appear above them. The enemy will not be in a position to escape your attack with no Stamina available for their boost.
Make sure whenever you shoot down an enemy you take the time to search their Arsenal to see if you can loot a valuable new weapon or piece of armor from them. You will be able to identify downed enemy Arsenals on your map by their red triangle icon with an exclamation point. It is important that you always do this as it is the main way to gain new weapons to expand your Arsenal.
