Introduction to Currencies

There are four main currencies in the game. These are Gold, Elixir, Dark Elixir, and Gems. The first three can safely be termed Resources. This means that you can mine, extract, or drill them, depending on the resource in question. The resources also must be stored.

Storage is important in Clash of Clans as you can only keep a very small amount of your resources in the resource collectors. Ensuring you have plenty of auxiliary storage means you are never wasting any of your hard work.

The more resources that you have in storage, however, the more there is for the enemy to steal when they raid your base.

The Treasury (stored in the Clan Castle) is a safe harbor for War Loot and Star Bonus loot. Now there is no need to fear those pesky raiders taking all your resources.
