Mission 04: SOE

Note: Getting the first memento in this mission (White Rose Poster) will alert everyone in the station, blowing your cover. The train will also attempt to leave prematurely, forcing you to fight your way through alerted enemies before the timer expires. If you want to maintain stealth (highly recommended) for an easier mission, get the memento then reload the checkpoint/ restart the mission.

Stop the Train

As soon as the mission starts, crouch then slowly creep behind the first nazi soldier ahead. Perform a stealth melee kill on him then take out the highlighted officer inside the truck. Your allies will take care of the others.

Next, follow Crowley to the house. Don’t go ahead yet since a nazi soldier will walk in from the left. Sneak behind him and kill him then continue moving to the left. Now, the first memento in the game is found on the left side, where there are three german soldiers hanging around by the door. Even if you manage to kill them all quickly, the entire station will still be alerted. Ignore this alert and proceed in collecting the memento inside the bucket by the door then restart the entire mission so you can proceed in stealth.

After restarting the game and reaching the point where Vivian takes out an unfortunate soldier by the window, look to the right and take out the sniper by the fence. There’s a hole by the canal on the left side that you can crawl into without going through the trouble of evading most of the soldiers patrolling the area. Just stay low and keep an eye out of the enemies, especially the patrols.

Drop down the ledge and use the scattered objects as cover. Move on the left side until you encounter a blockade. There’s a lone soldier you can sneak into but you have to wait until the soldiers in front of him leaves. Stealth kill the guard using your gun (melee is possible but will require timing since the guard looks from side to side) then stack up beside the truck.

Now go into prone position and crawl behind the chair to the left. You should be able to see the canal on the leftmost side of the wall ahead. Shoot the soldier ahead then carefully crawl to the canal on the left and go through the hole to reach the other side.

Carefully move behind the crates. Watch out for the guard walking inside the house since you may be directly within his line of sight. You can actually crawl through the bushes on the left without getting seen. Head to the open window beside the house and carefully take out the patrolling guard inside. Your allies should also be able to clear the three soldiers in front of the house so carefully move around the door and get inside the house.

Once you’re inside, continue ahead to the blocked room and collect the second memento on top of the piano to the left. (Dog Collar) Continue ahead and your ally will take out the other guard inside the house. At this point, you don’t need to maintain stealth so stack up by the door and engage the enemies outside. Don’t forget to remove the suppressor of your grease gun to increase its damage.

Assault the Post Office

Don’t go out immediately until you’re able to take out the attack dogs that will charge towards you. Your other team mates will arrive via jeep from the left so continue picking off the enemies ahead. Watch out for one of your allies will get wounded by the stone wall. Take out nearby enemies then lob two smoke grenades to block the enemies’ sight and cover yourselves. Pull him behind the stone wall to save his life and complete this only heroic action in the mission.

After clearing the enemies outside the post office, lob a grenade inside then clear the room. Open the door to hop on a nearby jeep and start the chase sequence of the mission. First, you’ll be the driver so your objective for now is to simply catch up with the train and avoid its guns. It’s recommended to hug the ridges on the left to avoid the train’s main guns.

Continue driving until you switch places with Zussman. Aim to the left and shoot any german soldiers that will attempt to destroy your vehicle. Your mounted MG has unlimited ammo but will overheat when used continuously so ease up the trigger regularly to maintain its rate of fire. If you see a soldier with a Panzerschreck, prioritize taking him out first before dealing with the others. Also, when you’re near the train’s engine, look out for a fuel tank that you can shoot and detonate.

As Zussman attempts to move in front of the train, a nazi will be able to throw a stick grenade to your jeep. Execute the QTE button properly to remove the grenade and jump off the jeep as the train derails.

Rally with your Squad

After the sequence, a french resistance ally will come to your aid. Follow her and carefully take out the surviving enemy soldiers along the way. You’ll have very little ammo at the moment so make sure your shots count. After taking out the initial group of enemies, scavenge their weapons and ammo before continuing forward. Continue until you reach a large enemy force past the broken train car that you have crawl under to get past. Take out most of them to force the remaining ones to retreat. Before chasing after them up the hill, check out the wooden crates they used as cover to find the blueprint on top of a wooden crate. (Rocket Blueprints)

After getting the blueprints, pick off the remaining enemies up the hill then continue ahead to regroup with your allies and complete the mission.
