After a battle you are rewarded with any Coins and Elixir that you pillaged from the enemy camp, as well as Trophies, if applicable. You do not keep any troops that may have survived the attack as this would lead to players with insanely-powerful armies being able to completely dominate. It forces players to rebuild their army after every attack, and ensures people can't just attack all day long.
This fact should make you think twice about committing too many troops to a single attack. You don't want to waste any Elixir and end up with loads of soldiers left at the end with full-health. Once you return to your base you will have to build the frequently-grueling task of retraining your entire army for the next battle to come along.
at the end of your attack, the survived troops disapear into a burst of elixir, is thos just for effect or do you get any return from the survivors?
