Race Modes

Classic

In Classic races players races against a number of other racers (usually 5 or 7). In a Quick Solo Race the number of racers will increase to 8 (24 in Metal Events). The object of these races is to try and cross the finish line first. Classic events grant three stars for 1st place, two stars for 2nd place, and one star for the 3rd place. There are also two variable bonus star rewards per race.

Versus

This race mode is exactly the same as Classic except that the player faces off against just one racer using a different car. 1st place in a Versus race will earn you three stars, you get nothing for finishing in 2nd place.

Infected

In this type of race the racer in last place will become infected at regular intervals and their vehicle will become more poweful. Once an infected racer has exceede their 30 second timer the racer suffers an 'Infection Overload' and their car is wrecked. Stars are granted to 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place racers. There are also 2 bonus stars that can be earned for each race event.

Elimination

During an Elimination race the racer who is in last place becomes eliminated every 10-60 seconds. 1st place will earn you three stars, getting eliminated at 2nd place will grant you two stars and getting eliminated at 3rd place will grant you one star. There are also various bonus stars that can be earned.

Knockdown

In this type of race the object is to score a 'Knockdown', this is achieved when a player attacks an opponent's vehicle and causes it to wreck.

Note: Classic and Infected modes are also available in the World Series.
