Sequence 05, Memory 07 -- A New Regime

As we previously did, it is time to head back to the Assassin HQ in Galata and use our desk to relive a memory from Altair...

As the memory starts we see Altair talking to Maria -- and what he relates is a tale of woe -- and the complete betrayal of Abbas.  Maria convinces Altair that he must win back the Brotherhood using only honorable means... 

It is 30 years since the previous memory, and in that time it seems that Abbas has risen to power and in the process has stripped away the strengths of the order here in what was supposed to be its seat of power...  Masyaf is a shadow of its former glory -- and now Altair must follow his wife to a meeting with Abbas -- the man who put their youngest son to death only weeks ago.

Altair's memory: Confronting Abbas

When you reach the meeting site a CS plays out and then everything goes sideways.  Now you must escape Masyaf by any means at your disposal, including slaying the corrupted Assassins who get in your way!  Run!

As Altair is leaving the fortress his oldest and remaining son arrives -- and he must now escape from the village with him -- which involves several large fights with corrupted Assassins that include the game disarming your weapon over and over again so that each time you meet a new set of Assassins you are forced to re-select the bloody weapon!  What was that all about?

Once you reach the bottom of the village and step into the marker you complete the mission and this sequence, and get the summary CS.  You also unlock the Achievement "The Plot Thickens" (20 GS) for completing DNA Sequence 5.  You should also take note that some new items have appeared in the shops.
