Sequence 06, Memory 07 -- The Mentor's Return

To gain 100% Synchronization for this mission you have to ONLY kill Abbas and his loyal Captains -- these are all marked with a red target marker -- you can NOT kill anyone else, which means anyone not marked with a red target marker... 

That should not present too much of a problem for you because for the most part the younger Assassins who accompany you as you make your way up to the Fortress will do any killing for you if you approached by Assassins loyal to Abbas who would attack you -- if you find yourself facing opponents that your band of loyal Assassins has not taken care of, what you want to do is to simply disarm them, because by doing that you cause them to change their loyalty from Abbas to Altair -- an important matter not simply because it reduces the resistance to Altair but because that is how he did it in his memory and this is, after all, a replay of that memory. 

As the mission/memory begins you are treated to a lengthy CS in which you meet with a group of young Assassins at a campfire at the bottom of the valley before the entrance to the village, and there you discover that you have encountered a group who is loyal to the memory of The Mentor, and not so much to Abbas.  After a telling conversation with them, they agree to join you in your quest to speak with Abbas who, despite all of the evil that he has done to you, you only want to speak with and if possible make peace with.

The Mentor's Return Memory: A Final Confrontation with Abbas

After the CS ends you are walking through the village towards the Fortress, and during this walk you will be attacked by Assassins who are loyal to Abbas -- the trick here is to do nothing except to walk -- the group of loyal Assassins will strive to defend The Mentor, and as Altair did not spill any blood on this walk save for that of the Captains loyal to Abbas, so too should you not.

As mentioned previously, the Assassins marked with a red target are killable, but no others; once Altair progresses to the and of the village and approaches the top of the cliffs it triggers another brief CS in which Abbas begins to panic, urging his men to attack and kill The Mentor, but largely due to the fact that Altair took no lives of the Assassins on his way to the Fortress other than those that must be taken, they are now loyal to The Mentor and not Abbas.

The Final Confrontation with Abbas as Justice Prevails

After that brief CS ends, Altair walks forward and is welcomed by the Assassins, and he then enters the Fortress for another CS in which he tells Abbas to have his men stand down, but Abbas refuses -- he intended to kill Altair because his need for revenge makes him deaf to any logic.

After the CS ends, simply shoot Abbas with the Hidden Gun and it will trigger the death scene in which Altair still tries to reason with Abbas in spite of everything -- and it is no surprise that even on the very brink of death Abbas refuses to accept.  Abbas vows to carry out his revenge, even in the afterlife -- and then he dies, ending the mission/memory and obtaining 100% Synchronization for you!  Well done!
