Shock Bombs are great for targeting enemy defenses, as they temporarily disable whatever they hit. Beware, however, as if you accidentally catch some of your own troops in their range, they will be disabled as well!

If you are up against defenses that you are not strong enough to destroy without Heavy casualties, or if your plan requires getting passed one particular structure unscathed, then Shock Bombs are the answer.
Be sure to target whatever Building poses the biggest threat to your army. So if you have Tanks, you would want to target Cannons or Boom Cannons, as these potentially will deal double damage to your Tanks.
One final thing to make sure is that you know when the Shock Bomb is about to run out - you need your units to be nice and safe before the enemy defenses come back online!

I have been thinking a lot about abstract uses for the shock bomb. Would it be worth while to stun your own troops, say riflemen and zookas, that have gone I front of heavies accidentally, therefore allowing the heavies to get back in the front. it might just work, but is it just too dumb to be helpful, and is it worth your gunboat energy?
