Shops Guide

In RPG games, shops and similar facilities exist in one form or another. They commonly allow players to outfit and resupply their characters or party, as well as access services like weapon upgrade, accessories maintenance, and more. Fire Emblem Engage also has these staple facilities in-game. In our Shops Guide, we will discuss the different shops found in your base and what are the various services they offer.

Fire Emblem Engage is a latest installation for the critically-acclaimed Fire Emblem series, offering a fresh approach to the tried-and tested tactical, turn-based JRPG formula fans have seen in recent years. Players are treated with the return of the Triangle System, weapons with no durability, and of course, the fresh new Emblem/Bond Ring mechanic.

Somniel, the floating island that’s also your home base or hub, will have four shops in total, which will be unlocked automatically as you progress through the story. The first two shops, the Armory and Item shop will become available after completing Chapter 4 while the other two shops (Boutique and Smithy) will be unlocked after completing Chapter 5.

You can conveniently purchase weapons and items at the Armory and Item Shop even while you’re in the world map or battle preparation screen by opening the menu and selecting the Marketplace option.

Armory

This is where you can purchase/sell various weapons that can be used by your units. The weapons sold in this shop will be updated automatically as you progress through the story. Some weapons will be sold in limited quantities early on but as you continue progressing through the main story, new stocks will be added and some limited weapons will become infinitely available.

If you have secured the Silver Card, you can enjoy a permanent 30% discount in this shop which goes a long way especially when purchasing more expensive weapons.

Item Shop

This where you can purchase various staves, healing/recovery consumables, torches, and tonics. Later on, Master Seals and Second Seals will be added to the inventory in limited numbers (which will eventually become infinitely available when you’re far ahead in the story) Similar to the Armory, the type of items and quantity sold will improve as you progress through the story.

If you have secured the Silver Card, you can enjoy a permanent 30% discount in this shop which goes a long way especially when purchasing expensive staves.

Boutique

This shop sells various outfits and accessories and gives you an option to change the appearance of your individual units. On top of gold, some outfits may require iron, steel, or silver as an additional cost. The items you purchase here are shared and become accessible to everyone so don’t worry about spending too much dressing up your individual characters.

Smithy

This shop gives you three options: Refine, Engrave, and Exchange. We will only briefly cover these services in this page since we will have a dedicated Smithy guide that will cover these options in detail.

Refine: Spend gold and Ingots to increase the weapon’s refinement level and stats. Can also convert certain weapons to different types (like an Iron Sword into an Armorslayer)

Engrave: Infuse an Emblem’s power to a selected weapon. Only one Emblem can be engraved onto a weapon at a time; if you want a different weapon to have the same Emblem engraved, you can spend Bond Fragments to “transfer” the engraved emblem’s power to the new weapon.

Exchange: Allows you to convert the various metals into different types. You can upgrade or downgrade a metal type, depending on what you need.
