Qada’s Poison Hi-Potion and Dark Breath skills are annoying and will cause trouble to anyone in your team. His Water of Life (Regen) skill is also annoying as you’ll be forced to use Dispel on him which can also remove the debuffs you’ve inflicted so far. Even if he’s the biggest threat so far, you have to avoid damaging him because his Dark Breath will inflict maximum damage the more HP he lost. Barbarossa is the next biggest threat with his powerful attacks and debuffs so you’ll have to keep up with the debuffs using your own boosts, preferably with the help of a Performer/ singing job command. |
Praline will provide support and buff up everybody while occasionally attacking. She’ll use My Hero to give one BP to all her allies, which can allow threats like Barbarossa and Qada to make extra moves. Use Zero Sum to effectively reduce their stacked BP to zero. Don’t underestimate her role in this group; her buffs can have lasting effects, especially her My Hero skill that doesn’t consume her own BP. That said, you should take her out first. Kikyo should be saved for last since she doesn’t have any threatening attacks to put your party in danger – except for her priority move that will allow her to land first, which can catch your critically wounded allies off guard. Kamiizumi will use conventional attacks sometimes but most of the time, he’ll be in the defensive with his Bushido skills. |
It will help a lot having a Swordmaster tank here, and a Ninja with two-handed ability and a powerful weapon to help you with the offense. A Spiritmaster with white magic is a necessity as well since you’ll have to outheal most of the damage and use emergency staller magic like Stillness. You’ll also need the spiritmasters Save White Magic MP since you’ll be focusing most of your spells to healing. Finally, make sure your healers have a staff equipped so you can have access to the Rejuvenation specialty. If you’re able to fully rebuild Norende village, you can attack parts to Rejuvenation to make it heal more HP, MP, revive your characters and restore up to two BPs – definitely a necessary emergency panic move. |
Barbarossa’s attacks are single-targets only so being able to counter them with Transience and with the help of a Swordmaster definitely helps. After taking out Praline, concentrate on taking out Barbarossa next. His debuffs and Double Damage can turn the tide of battle if you’re not careful. Kamiizumi will replace Praline so don’t relax yet after taking her down. Don’t attack him for now since he doesn’t have powerful offensive attacks. Once Barbarossa is defeated, you can target Kikyo next and Kamiizumi. You have to leave Qada for last since his Dark Breath won’t hurt as long as he doesn’t sustain any damage. |
