Head to the pillar of light located in the southeast corner of the map. Before heading in, you're advised to do whatever you need to do before heading inside. Proceed when ready. Watch the following scenes. You'll have to fight another boss before this chapter ends.
Boss: Alternis Dim |
HP: 110,000 Weakness: None, FAM: Human |
|
Alternis Dim's Black Bane deals medium dark damage to all party members while Dark Bane deals damage to a single target. If one of them has the dark shield equipped, he/she will be immune against this attack. This battle shouldn't be that hard since Alternis will keep using Dark Bane. Don't keep anybody in low HP since he can use Minus Strike to deal more damage. Aside from those attacks and the constant chatter, you don't have to apply any special tactics in defeating him. |
After the battle, you'll get the Dark Knight asterisk. Watch the following scenes as the chapter ends.
I have been stuck on this boss for months >:0
Only need one white Mage and can have the revive all party members when KOd ability as a safety net, next to that have a salve maker for pheonix down + potion combo for full go revive.
Went in with my standard team and while a good number of KO from minus strike it wasn't overwhelming used Braves a lot too. Just don't on the WH unless necessary and default when the WHM isn't needed. Don't even both topping off unless you don't have anyone to revive.
Theif/pirate, spell fencer/vampire(lvl1), Templar/singer , white/black Mage
I had dark shield on Ringabel my Red mage. Alternis kept spamming dark/Black bane and just killed everyone off except Ringabel. Ringabel kept trying to revive somebody but Alternis kept killing whoever Ringabel revived. So Ringabel tried attacking but didn't do much damage. So they just stood around awkwardly not doing anything to each other until Alternis decided to unleash his ultimate weapon. Minus strike. Dang it I hate that move.
He NEVER spams the two banes for me, he always attacks and sometimes uses them rarely. He also has only 100,000 unlessthis guide is on hard mode and never said so.
This is a bit wrong cause minus strike causes the USER's missing HP in damage, which also means that, guess what? When he uses it at low Hp you're going to have a REALLY bad time. Keep those revives going and make sure you heal up when you do...I think two white mages, one to cast revive and the other to heal the party would work best here. Also I wouldn't suggest using brave, given that I did to revive the full party cause the strategy here was wrong so pretty much I got completely killed.
his minus strike keeps killing me :(
