Once you have the Compass you will be able to access a Dusty Path which will take you to a world map and treacherous wastelands to explore, fight enemies, and scavenge for items. Before leaving your village and embarking on a Dusty Path you need to ensure you take the following things with you to have any chance of surviving.

9 or 10 Cured Meats

Waterskin

Armour

Bone Spear

4 or 5 Torches

Rucksack
