#1: Jaws (1975)
Set on fictionous Amity Island near New England during the mid 70's it tells the story of a great white shark that preys upon a small resort town and the efforts of three men led by new police chief of Amity, Martin Brody who must hunt and kill the beast before the loss of tourist revenue cripples the town. what happens next is an epic battle of man vs nature.
#2: The Deer Hunter (1978)
Set in 1968 a trio of lifelong friends from a working-class Pennsylvania steel town have one final group hunting trip before they are shipped out to the Vietnam War. The story then tells how the war in Vietnam enters their lives and alters them terribly forever.
#3: The Ghost and the Darkness (1996)
Set in 1898 this is the true story of Sir Robert Beaumont who seeks the expertise of British military engineer Lt. Colonel John Henry Patterson to get his railroad project in Kenya back on schedule. This simple task becomes complicated when two lions cause panic by managing to infiltrate the construction camp and hunt the workers. Patterson with the help of his assistant Samuel and the American hunter Remington have no opton but to face the lions to try and save the railroad project.
#4: Jeremiah Johnson (1972)
After the Mexican War of 1848 Jerimiah Johnson heads to the Rocky Mountains to live a live of isolation. Jerimiah quickly finds himself unequipped for such a lifestyle but is fortunate to come across a seasoned mountain man who is willing to teach him the necessary survival tactics. Jerimiah then finds himself a native bride and adopts a son but their peaceful existance is threatened when Jerimiah incurs the ire of the Crow Indians.
#5: Out of Africa (1985)
Set in 1913 colonial Kenya it tells the true story of aristocrat Karen Blixen, who set on being a dairy farmer travels to Africa to join her husband only to discover he has spent their money on a coffee plantation. Then after discovering her husband has been unfaithful Karen develops feelings for a local hunter named Denys who prefers the simplistic lifestyle of big-game hunting compared to her upper class background.
