VIII. Healing Church Workshop

The Healing Church Workshop is one of the optional areas in the game. But this area can only be accessed if you have defeated the Blood-Starved Beast from old yharnam.

Proceed to the cathedral ward lantern and go to the now opened door. Climb the stairs up but be careful as another old man in a wheelchair will be firing at you with his gattling gun. Ogres will be waiting also in the same area. On the side of the room, climb the ladder where you will be reading a passage on the floor. At the end of the circular room, there will be a chest that will give u the Radiant Sword hunter Badge.

Inside there will be makeshift bridges downwards the tower. Descend upon these beams slowly and carefully. As you continue on down you will find a Messenger Top Hat. There will be another waiting as you explore the area downwards.

At the bottom of the pit there will be a horned werewolf guarding a door, with its back facing you. After defeating it, the door will open up to an alley around cathedral ward. This alley will be filled with Afflicted Yharnamites, some Giant Crows, and some Rabid Dogs. Upon reaching this area, a new enemy may appear in Cathedral Ward—which is a hooded beast that would abduct you and bring you to a place full of enemies if you are not so careful.

In this alley, you may pick up a Madman’s Knowledge in a corner right before a junction. In this area, you may also be attacked by more Rabid Dogs and Giant Crows. Around this place, you may find a corpse which, upon inspection, will give you the Yharnam Attire.

Exploring this area further will prompt you to battle the Eldritch-like Beast which may freeze you to suck out your brain—draining you of HP and some Insight too. This Eldritch-like Beast will reward you with Fire Blood Gemstone. At one end of the alley, you may find an elevator which will lead you atop a platform where a gate leading to Oedon Chapel is. Around this place, you may pick up a Thick Coldblood.

After this, you may proceed to another optional area, the abandoned old workshop or the Forbidden Woods.
